Purpouse
This Module discusses why driving a motor vehicle is a serious responsibility, and how a motor vehicle can be a deadly weapon if used improperly. It also discusses the problems of having the wrong attitudes and the lack of moral responsibility while driving. This module teaches students why it is so important to have common courtesy on the road and what “safe driving” is about. It touches briefly on systems for driver's education and control, and why a driver’s education is important for safe driving.

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to comprehend fully:

Why individuals 16 to 20 years old have the highest fatality and injury rates in the U.S., and recognize that this is a compelling basis for the completion of a comprehensive driver’s education program

The issues contributing to high crash rates, which include immaturity, inexperience and lack of adequate driving skills, driving during nighttime high-risk hours, risk-taking, drunk driving and poor driving judgment and decision-making

That safe driving is a matter of attitude and ethics

How car accidents are entirely preventable

Why one should obey the literal interpretation of the everyday laws

Why common courtesy is a key to safe driving as it makes order out of chaos
